    SKU: SESGEAR3-6STK

    Hello Folks!

In the past few years, we have seen some people push this platform to the limits, especially on the road course. What happens on many occasions, is the front wheels lose contact with the surface for a brief moment. When it goes back on the road, that rapid combination plus the car pushing all the power down stresses the 4th gear and it shears all the teeth damaging the transmission. This causes all the metal (gear pieces) to get stuck between other components (final drive, other gear sets, etc.) and get damaged. But when is this problem happening? I’m sure most people tracking their cars and making over 450WTQ have no problems. So, this happens in combination with, Good traction (good tires lower than 200TW) and really fast drivers (when you can see the car in the air? Yes!). If you really don’t push the car beyond the limits on the road course and your R does not have upgraded suspension and all that's necessary to have better traction most likely nothing will happen. All of the above will be scenario A.

    Let’s talk about scenario B.

Most people push their cars on the street, ¼ mile, etc. We have seen people making really good power over 600WHP and 500WTQ and they haven’t complained. So you wonder ‘’ When do I have to worry?’’. In our experience, we have pushed the car on multiple ¼ mile and street pulls making 500 whp and 450wtq with not one single issue. Also, our car has an upgraded clutch and sticky tires (summer tires below 200TW). We do not baby the car at all! Every time we race the car we are also flatfoot shifting. The shop car has been running for over 2 years, racing every day like a champ, but as soon as we started pushing above 550WHP all the nightmares started. We rebuilt transmissions with all OEM parts, and it lasted two weeks, then we got another OEM transmission and it lasted about the same. One time we swapped another unopened transmission with 2000 miles and it lasted one week.

Short story: If your car is pushing over 550WHP, you are racing often, flatfoot shifting, and you have good tires then yes, I would upgrade the 4th gear.

For people on the stock clutch, regular tires (300TW), and people shifting normally, you don’t have to worry. We don’t think you need to upgrade the gear if you just do some spirited driving, full throttle pulls here and there, not really pushing their cars too often.

    New !

Now available 3 to 6th gear upgrade. After pushing the motor over 600WHP abusing everyday we starting experiencing damaging on the 3 gear , for that reason we have 3 to 6th gear.

These are the gear ratios available at the moment: 3 rd : 1.41 vs stock 1.529, 4th 1.14 vs stock 1.125, 5th 0.92 vs stock 0.911, and 6th 0.81 vs stock 0.735. SES gearset is 3 gear slight taller, more usable power band, 4th, 5th slightly shorter, it means more torque for these gears but not but much, and 6th gear oem is overdrive designed for cruising, we designed this gear for long track when you need that extra torque after 160 mph .
